There are rolls and rolls of images labeled “light test” in this collection of photos. Many of them are of Elizabeth, with a “I do not want to be here right now” smile. Though there are great snap shots of time and here are three from my findings a few weeks ago.

This is Ken and Elizabeth’s son David looking at the telescope that they put together. There was a old tower in the back yard that they view the stars from. The table and other random parts to put the telescope together is pure Vincent Engineering. Ask my kids…

I found these classic ads that Ken worked on in one of the NY agencies. These ads are all in different stages of the creative process though artwork is brillant and reminds me of the show Madmen.

1967 Boston Bruins

A few photos of the old Boston Garden and the Boston Bruins in 1967. These photos were taken by Peter Vincent (son) and were subjects of sketches that he had done that year. The first time I went to the Garden was in the 70’s, that was one noisy, dirty place and the home of the Big Bad Bruins.

Color TV? Cape Ann Bank and Trust

Cape Ann Bank & Trust – New Color TV

This is a fun ad from Cape Ann Bank and Trust, get a loan for a new color TV. The football players is a painting by Ken and Elizabeths son Peter.

As a side note, this project has been wonderful because it has started a conversation with my family about the Vincent history. My Aunt has been wonderful in correcting me and making comments that would not have happened without this. In these cases I have gone back to the original posts and added notes in the hopes of building a full story. Thanks to everyone.

A Trip To New York 1955

Elizabeth in New York

Looking at Elizabeth’s hat it would lead me to believe that this was a special trip to New York for Ken and Elizabeth.

Note: My Aunt adds. I doubt that this was a special trip they lived in the Riverside section of Greenwich, CT and Ken took the train to work in New York every day. Elizabeth would go to New York to see her Sister, Maggie Root or to go on a shopping. Women always wore a hat and gloves to the City, so she wasn’t especially dressed up in this photo. She might have met Dad for lunch in New York, though.

And I am remind on how much thing have changed in how we dress in the last 50 years.

Gloucester Paint

Gloucester Paint

This is one of my favorite images from the adverting days on Haven Ave. This was an ad done for Gloucester Paint, it features two of Ken and ELizabeths children, Ken Jr in the Sun glasses (my dad) and Mary Ann. The two others in the photo are Oscar Nelson on the left and on the right long time Rockport Harbor Master Gene “Shorty” Lesch. I at one time had the ad from this, hopefully I will find it again.
